Wd My Cloud Red Power Light

There are a few things you should be aware of if you re going to attempt your own recovery of a wd my cloud with a red light.

I tried to reboot device after reboot led was solid blue but 2 min after it turned solid red again. My whole life is on the my cloud. I didn t think that is was such a big deal however after trying to get it to connect through wifi several times for about 6 hours i couldn t get it working. The control panel reports everything as healthy.

It is formatted ext4 which is a linux filesystem the os. During shut down and power up the light blinks blue as normal. I tried resetting using the reset button at the back turning the power on and off disconnecting from the router etc but nothing seems to work. The filesystem is not ntfs fat hfs or any of the others that your typical data recovery software is going to support.

So one day i woke up and realized that my my cloud 3 tb was glowing all red in the front. The drive temps have gone up a bit reaching 40c. I was so frustrated. I have a red light on my mycloud box.

The model number that i have is as follows. All lights were blue. I have nothing new on my system so nothing was added when i got up just like i said all of a sudden now i have a red light its not flashing. After 8 days uptime with my ex2100 i am getting a solid red light on the power button.
